Due to the expansion of services over the years, the Tree of Peace Society has undertaken the challenge of operating
a learning center to accomodate the growing need of a peaceful environment to share the teachings of the Haudenosaunee
and the principles of peace.
Of course, there are always challenges facing a small grassroots organization when it comes to finances and manpower.
We have hosted groups of volunteers and university students to help us build up the facilities at the the learning center. Presently,
we have 3 main cabins, which can accomodate 40 visitors, a temporary shower facility as well as a temporary base of
operations.
A lot of blood, sweat and tears have gone into the shaping of the landscape and building of the cabins. We still
have a way to go, but our perseverence and dedication shall overcome every obstacle in due time.
The Tree of Peace Society has been relying on the generous gifts and donations from friends, foundations and volunteers
for financial support and manpower.
Our goal is to begin breaking ground for the Conference Center building by the Spring of 2005. To enable us to
do this we realize that we need to double our efforts and reach out for help to make the conference center a reality.
We are in the planning stages of many fundraising activities that will be posted soon. Check back to see how you may
help!
